More Art. Less Work.

I am longing for warm weather and green grass that I can walk through barefooted. A trip to Laumeier Sculpture Park is so long overdue. Lindsey was able to finally mow and get the garden ready. Hopefully, we can squeeze in plantings between rainstorms this week.
Since outdoor activities were kind of a bust this weekend, I did make a point to to sneak out for about an hour on Sunday to see the Storylines: Contemporary Embroidery show at Craft Alliance. I fell hard for the work of Diem Chau who stitches stories on hard surface like coffee cups and plates. Her past work has included tiny sculpting of crayons--pretty incredible. I also liked the graphic nature of Deborah Slabeck Baker's embroidery pieces. And Caycez Zavaglia's realistic portraits are beyond amazing.
More art. Less work.

Oh, Andrea. You had me at the headline with this one. How do we find time for more art? I'm always asking myself this. I want more time for creating and more time for enjoying other people's creativing.
