Gumdrops

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Audrey is now a little over 4 months old and sweeter than gumdrops swimming in honey. She smiles and everyone, coos like crazy, sleeps at least 8 hours a night, and seems happy about 95% of the time. I promised myself that all my baby talk to her was going to be about what a bright, smart, and sweet little baby she is. But alas, I call her "momma's pretty baby" at least forty times a day. Can't help myself.

I've returned to work--three 10 hour days a week. I like getting out of the house, but wish I were doing something more satisfying. My employer has been incredibly flexible and generous and I have a great assistant. But when I spend so much time taking care of baby, hubby, household, etc. it would be nice if the time I was away from the house was spent on something that made my soul sing. Trying to fit in time for myself has been way harder than I imagined. Any spare minutes I do have are spent napping or daydreaming about napping.

I have many web projects looming--all should be fun. All are stressing me out.
  1. My website. Terribly outdated and tired. Want to redo the whole thing--probably a combination of blog and webpages with Wordpress. Looked into it. Migrated blog. Done nothing else. When will I have time? Never.
  2. 52nd City website. Needs to be completely redesigned so that all three of us can add content, it is easier to maintain, so that it works in all browsers, so that it and the blog look more alike in design/feel. We have no money. And I don't have the mad skills needed for this sort of overhaul. Quandary to be sure.
  3. Work website. Finally we get to use an outside vendor. I'm very happy about this. I'll be more of a project manager and not responsible for doing every part of it. But I have so many projects on my plate at work.
Speaking of work...I should be getting ready. More later.
